“From Public Awareness to State Accountability”
Peoples’ Tribunal on Torture (PTT) is a public hearing of victims and survivors of police torture in their quest for Justice and also for strengthening the larger campaign for the prevention of torture in India.
Dates: August 12 – 13, 2008

Richmond Town, Bangalore
SICHREM’s Human Right Monitors have studied and documented over 600 cases of police torture in 6 districts of Karnataka since 2006. Victims and survivors of roughly 100 such cases will provide testimony at the August PTT before a distinguished Jury Panel of scholars and practitioners in human rights, law, social work, public policy, and medicine.

Watch in 2006. SICHREM is the local partner implementing the NPPTI in Karnataka.
